With the help of American airpower (CH-47, UH-60, AH-64, F-16) a company of Partnering Unit Kunduz (Parachute Infantry Battalion 373 and Armored Infantry Battalion 122) was recently airlifted into Lalla Maydan in Aliabad district -- an operation that went by the name "Silent Hills" (sic). The commanding officer personally had come to persuade a group of insurgents to surrender; strong forces were deployed due to concerns about the sincerity of the local village elders's offer for talks.
